Ooooh, there's nothing like a good cuppa. If that cuppa is enjoyed in elegant surroundings, with great friends and a tantalising selection of delicious treats, then it really is paradisaically poured perfection!
Of course, you've spent years refining your own tea-making methods, you've got it down to a tee (pun intended), you know your preferred tea bags, the right amount of milk, which biscuits are best for dunking, even which is the comfiest seat to be sitting in, but going out for afternoon tea… well, that's just a bit special.
Types of venues we serve afternoon tea include:
- Vintage Tea Houses
- 5-star Hotels
- Vintage Buses
- Pubs
- Coffee Shops
Here in Britain, we've been enjoying this delicious beverage since the 1660s, then some bright spark had the genius idea of adding cakes and sandwiches, and voila, ‘high tea' (as it was known by the Victorians) was born.
You can now turn tea into a real occasion at a fantastic venue where a reserved table and friendly waiting staff will be ready to greet you. Once everyone is sitting comfortably, service will begin. You'll be offered a selection of teas along with treats such as delicious finger sandwiches, cakes, pastries and savouries (exact menus will vary by location).
Tasty, refined, elegant: afternoon tea is as British as strawberries and cream, but even more scrumptious. We would almost go as far as to say it should be made compulsory across the nation, but then it wouldn't be such a wonderful treat to look forward to and savour for those special occasions.
And of course, calories don't count when you're having fun!*
